Signs of Hope International (SOHI) is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
Operations
SOHI is 100% volunteer-run. The Board of Directors collaborates with the existing local educational infrastructure within Ghana, West Africa while incorporating a human-rights based approach to advocate for equitable opportunities for the D/deaf community.

Curry Jones, Founder
In 2004, Curry’s passion, vision and love of the children who are Deaf in Ghanaian why Signs of Hope International started.
Curry has stepped down from Signs of Hope International to focus on his family.
We are grateful for the difference Curry’s contribution has made in the world.

Ronai Brumett
President of the Board
Ronai fell in love with Ghana and its people the first time she and her daughter Ellie visited in 2012.
Ronai leads a vibrant wellness business and is married to her sweetheart Michael (for 28 years!!!). They have 4 fantastic kids (young adults) and 2 amazing grandbabies.
Ronai has a burning desire to help others, she’s been like this since she was a little girl. She wants to make sure she leaves the world a better place because she was here.
Ellie & Ethan Stubbs
Co-Director & Board Member
Ellie is Ronai's daughter and co-director of Signs of Hope International. Ellie has been signing and participating in the Deaf community from a very young age. She first traveled to Ghana, Africa with Ronai when she was 14-years-old, creating life-long friendships and connections.
Ellie has a Bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies from Utah Valley University and is working on getting RID certified as an interpreter. She and her husband, Ethan, currently live in Minnesota. As Ethan is a CODA, they enjoy a bilingual home with their two adorable sons.
LeeAnn Mason
Board Member
LeeAnn fell in love with American Sign Language through using Signing Time for communication with her young children. In 2003 she started volunteering for Two Little Hands Productions, becoming an employee in 2004.
In 2007, she helped raise funds for the Signing Time Foundation trip to Ghana with Signs of Hope International. In June of 2020 LeeAnn left to run her own wellness company Beyond Possibilities. She is also studying Marriage and Family Science through BYU-Idaho.
She has been married to her sweetheart for over 23 years. They have three beautiful children. They are also passionate about food and have a family blog "Beyond Food Is Art".
LeeAnn is passionate about serving and looks forward to the opportunities for service that will come as she works with Signs of Hope International.
Alex & Rachel Woerner
Board Members
Alex Woerner grew up in Spanish Fork, Utah. He is a certified ASL interpreter, an open-water certified scuba diver, and a business student at Brigham Young University. He and Rachel got married in November 2017, and life has been a non-stop adventure since then.
Rachel Woerner was a child of the Air Force, but Colorado Springs, CO is home. She is a certified yoga instructor, a Master of Public Administration student at Brigham Young University, and loves to travel. She and Alex met in an upper-level college ASL class, and they have been inseparable ever since.
Alex and Rachel are avid travelers, aspiring world changers, and friends to all. They can’t wait to make a difference in the world, one child at a time.
Jessica
Board Member
Jessica was first introduced to ASL by seeing an interpreter in 6th grade. Her fascination grew with seeing the interpreter’s confidence and how they prioritized the student’s understanding.
From there, her passion to learn about ASL and Deaf Culture quickly grew.Her education has provided a better understanding of who she is and her role in language access. Seeing how her education has developed her personhood serves as a reminder that there should be no barriers that prevent other students from having one.
Currently , she is pursuing an American Sign Language and Interpreting degree at Liberty University and is working towards becoming a qualified interpreter.
